This is the part people mean when they say Laureles without qualifying it. The street plan curves rather than grids, which is the single most disorienting thing about the neighbourhood on your first week and the thing residents end up liking most. Traffic cannot build speed on a curve, so the interior streets stay quiet.
Stock is mostly four to six storey brick buildings from the 1970s through the 1990s, many without lifts, sitting behind low walls and gardens. Units tend to be larger than anything built in the last decade, with real separate kitchens and service rooms. Newer infill towers exist but are the exception rather than the pattern.
Buyers come here for the walkability and the flat ground. It is the strongest argument in the city for not owning a car.

What to check before you offer
Lift access. A fourth floor walk-up is charming at 40 and a problem at 70. Check the reglamento before assuming one can be added.
